Why can I not clean the carpet myself?

We require professional steam carpet cleaning by an IICRC certified company to preserve the life of the carpet. Technicians undergo training on how to use commercialized equipment, the types of chemicals and when to use them, as well as the proper cleaning techniques as this can vary depending on the type of carpet or area. Consumer grade or leased machines do not provide the deep cleaning necessary and if the wrong chemicals or technique are used, permanent damage could be caused to the carpet. Carpet cleaning does require a certain level of education as well as training and its best to leave it up to a professional. 

To avoid possible complications, tenants are required to use a professional. HappyDoors does provide a recommended carpet cleaning company. However, if you choose to use your owner preferred vendor, please be sure to screen them properly and verify that they are IICRC certified.
