All good things must come to an end. If you signed the standard lease used by HappyDoors Property Management, both the landlord and tenant are required to provide a 45 day written notice to terminate the lease. This notice must be processed at least 45 days before the lease end date.
If you are on a month to month term, the 45 day notice can be provided at anytime.
Tenant giving notice:
- If emailing us your notice to vacate, we recommend that you mail a copy as well. This can ensure that your email isn't lost or accidentally flagged as spam.
- You will be responsible to pay rent until the end of the full 45 day notice period, even if you move out sooner.
Landlord giving notice:
- If the lease is on a month to month term, you can move-out anytime after receiving a formal notice to vacate from the landlord.
